TANDM 90-348 can be configured to hold an integral magnetic field pulser and specially modified target manipulator to support limited configurations of targets with externally applied B fields (See Figure 5-4b). The pulser has been demonstrated to deliver up to about 30kV and 30T of applied field in very specific configurations. Achievable voltage and B fields are critically dependent on the details of the targets, which contain the field coils. Experimenters interested in using this capability must contact the magnetic target Integrated Product Team (IPT) very early on to discuss possible design options and capabilities.
